OUR PASSION FOR TRIATHLON
MTC was founded by four friends who met at Masters Swim and shared a simple belief: you’re never too old to be an athlete. Inspired by that mindset, they set out to recreate the camaraderie, accountability, and joy of being part of a team.
What began as a small training group quickly grew into a community built on encouragement, consistency, and shared goals. From first-time triathletes to seasoned racers, MTC exists to create a welcoming environment where athletes of all abilities can challenge themselves, support one another, and rediscover the fun of competing — together.
MEET THE TEAM
CHAD BOUCK
Resilient | Supportive | Driven
Chad is a business owner, devoted husband to his wife Linda, and proud father to his son, Sean, who is currently in college. A former college football player, he brings the same discipline, competitiveness, and team-first mindset to triathlon that he developed on the field. Chad’s athletic background and leadership experience shape the steady, encouraging presence he brings to the team each day. He learned to swim just months before completing his first triathlon, Ironman Chattanooga — a bold start that reflects his willingness to embrace big challenges. An avid cyclist, he brings enthusiasm and energy to every ride. Whether he’s hanging back to ensure no one gets dropped or staying after practice to offer advice and encouragement, Chad leads by example and puts the team first.Triathlon Superpower: Cycling and distracting swim coaches from the workout.
Least Favorite Part of Training: Running speed intervalsRace-Day Goal: To nail nutrition, stick to the plan after something goes wrong (and it always does)Advice to New Members: Do it! We have all been there

Least Favorite Part of Training: Long blocks of trainingRace-Day Goal: To beat her 2025 70.3 timeAdvice to New Members: Have fun and give yourself some grace (no pun intended)

bridget gilgenberg
Swim Powerhouse | Quiet Strength | Team Leader
Bridget has been swimming almost as long as she can remember, making her our go-to swim powerhouse. She’s also a former collegiate softball player. Strong, focused, and quietly supportive, she leads with a big heart — she leads by example and makes everyone around her better.
When she’s not training or racing, Bridget balances life with her husband Mike and their three teenage boys, bringing the same dedication and leadership to her family life that she brings to the team.
Triathlon Superpower: I could swim all day. Floating? (Monkey, Airplane, Rocket!) It’s ok! Just keep moving (forward). Least Favorite Part of Training: Running. I enjoy walk-running. It’s ok to go slower.
Race-Day Goal: Finish. It's not about time for me, it's about setting a goal, showing up, doing my best, and finishing what I started! Sometimes it doesn’t go as planned, but I won't quit. And when you find friends to “race” with, friends who motivate you, and won’t allow you to quit on yourself?…then the race becomes FUN!Advice to New Members: Life is ALWAYS busy. Waking up at 5am is NO one’s favorite thing to do, but find time for yourself. Working out with a group of friends is WAY better! Always reach for the stars; you will surprise yourself what you are capable of!
